Gardening Equipment - Some Suggestions
Modern gardening equipment has become so seemingly complex that people often don't know what to purchase, or if they even need any of it. Marketing techniques encourage us to believe that we need the latest whiz bang do-it-all machinery or else our gardens will be a failure.
But this is certainly not true! Whilst the functionality and design of some of the oldest and most useful gardening equipment has come a long way, the basic purpose and aims still remain. The principles of gardening are the same as they were hundreds of years ago; we now just have the technology to make life that little bit easier!
So which gardening equipment should you buy? I have listed several pieces of apparatus here. Keeping in mind it is not necessary to buy them all; this decision is left for you depending on the type of garden you maintain.
The equipment that I have listed here are the very basics of gardening and will certainly make your life easier!
Hedge trimmers are a gardener’s best friend. Rather than trim hedges manually, you can now purchase hedge trimming equipment that are electric. The Bosch AHS42-16 is one of my absolute favorite and highly recommended hedge trimmers and comes with 420 watts of power.
Lawnmowers never go out of fashion. The modern lawnmower is so much more advanced than those of the old day (1960's and 70's etc). Lawnmowers nowadays come equipped with things such as top covers that protect shrubs and flowers that overhang. This is an excellent idea for large gardens that can be difficult to mow. There are also push mowers which do not cause pollution. These are fantastic for the environmentally conscious gardener.
Leaf Sweepers are another modern day luxury. No more raking up leaves with that old rake! A leaf sweeper can be towed or pushed. It uses rotary brushes to sweep leaves into a box which collects them. Large leaf sweepers are often self-powered however usually the pick up brushes are driven by the wheels which are in contact with the grass.
Hedge trimmers, modern day lawnmowers and leaf sweepers are three essential pieces of garden equipment that can really save you time and sweat in the garden. While I do not recommend purchasing all the latest and greatest garden nick nacks, you certainly can not go past buying the ones I have mentioned in this article as they really do perform the basic functions of gardening.
